Elisabeth Ekornes was born and raised in Norway, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Music/Voice from the Music Conservatory in Oslo. She worked extensively in her native country as a singer and actress, where she appeared on television as Ottilie in The White Horse Inn, and on the radio in Classical Concerts on Norwegian Broadcasting’s Channels 1 and 2. Elisabeth toured Norway to great acclaim in many roles she played, including Polly in The Threepenny Opera, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Musico in Vive La Mama, and Constance in Gjest Baardsen’s Last Escape, and many more. She has the honor of receiving several awards/grants as an exceptional performer, highlighted by the prestigious Peter Bing Drejer Sundt Award given by the Norwegian Equity for Talented Actors.
Elisabeth was invited to come to the United States as a singer at the Leiv Eriksson Festival in Minneapolis, and the Norsk Hostfest in North Dakota. In the United States, she performed for His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Haakon, of Norway.
Elisabeth Ekornes is the winner of The Royal Dragonfly Book Award in recognition of excellence in literature: 2014 Best Cover Design, Honorable Mention, for her first Children's Book: "Shelly's New Shell" which she wrote and illustrated.

Elisabeth is a self-taught artist who found her own style. She had an exhibition at the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) Conference in Los Angeles in 1999 and 2006.
A published poet, Elisabeth has received the Editors Choice Award from The International Library of Poetry. She has sold her poetry to Hallmark Greeting Cards through Aune Publisher in Norway. In Los Angeles, she was hired by CineMagnetics and Crest National as a Norwegian translator and created the subtitle translations for such prominent films as Meet the Parents, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Chocolate, About a Boy, and Simone.
Elisabeth is a member of the songwriting organizations ASCAP and TONO.
She is also a member of NATS, the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
Elisabeth has released a classical CD with songs by Edvard Grieg called: "Elisabeth Ekornes sings the songs of Edvard Grieg." It contains 18 beautiful art songs celebrating nationally acclaimed Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. (1843-1907)

Elisabeth has been teaching voice and piano at 3 private music schools in Los Angeles, California for more than 26 years. She is now teaching Zoom lessons online from all over the world and welcomes new students of all ages.
Although she teaches all levels, she is especially good at building students up from scratch. If you are looking for a teacher who is patient, encouraging, and kind to your kids--- or adults, she is the right teacher. She has helped many young and shy children and adults come out of their shells and helped them blossom into secure and balanced individuals.
Many of her voice students are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and nominees of International competitions. Elisabeth teaches all styles of singing like Opera, Musical Theatre, and Pop. She also focuses on interpretation and the acting part of singing, charisma, and building confidence. Elisabeth teaches all levels, whether her students just want to do it as a hobby or have aspirations of having a career in show business. She has helped her students to get into prestigious acting and music colleges and many of them have landed leads in musical theatre productions, soloing in churches and singing with bands.
